Lee County Sheriff Deputies say they received a call late Monday night about a car in canal. The charred car was found in a Lehigh Acres canal along Blackstone Drive near Yellow Bird Drive.
The driver of the car was not on scene when the vehicle was found.
That car was badly burned but deputies say it was a Nissan. They are unsure of the exact model or color because of the damage from the fire.
Our crews on scene saw Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue Investigators collecting evidence as the car was being pulled from the canal.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office has confirmed with Fox 4 that the car was reported stolen.
