FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department was searching the area along Cleveland Avenue after a reported Burglary.
An FMPD officer saw a suspect on a bicycle riding along Cleveland Avenue matching the description of the suspect.
The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop. According to Sergeant Zammit, the suspect crossed over Cleveland Ave.
The officer went to pursue the suspect, the suspect ditched the bike and fled on foot.
A K-9 dog was turned loose on the man, and he sustained minor injuries during the apprehension.
EMS was called in to administer treatment/first aid to the suspects left leg
