BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- As public accusations fly over why Bruno Total Home Performance had their offices raided by police on Tuesday, the company has released a statement defending themselves.

Multiple agencies surrounded the company's Bonita Springs offices Tuesday morning, removing items from the office and some work trucks.

Meanwhile, the story was a big hit on social media, with people offering their opinions on why this was happening and offering varying theories.

Former customers tell Fox 4 that they were unhappy with the company's service, claiming they were tricked into work they did not need. An employee of another company says he's heard from other associates that dozens of Bruno employees walked away from their jobs on Monday.

The State Attorney General confirmed that they are investigating at least consumers complaints against Bruno Total Home Performance, but could not comment further due to the active nature of the investigation.

A former employee named Mary, who asked us not to use her last name, told Fox 4 that she fielded multiple customer complaints about everything from poor workmanship to unreasonably high prices when she worked for Bruno Total Home Performance four years ago.

"They would tell me they would pay a lot of money for their air conditioning," Mary said. "Some of the stuff wasn't done, or completed at the time."

Tuesday night, the company released the following statement:

"This morning’s law enforcement activities came as a shock to all of us here at Bruno Total Home Performance. We want to apologize for any disruption of service to our loyal clients as well as new customers in our pipeline. We are dedicated to quality workmanship and honest business practices, as well as to our outstanding staff of more than 200 people and their families who have helped make us the company we are.

"So many of the posts on social media are untrue, and as we begin to learn more about these matters, we will keep you informed and provide the details.

"We will continue to operate, service our clients and honor all of our warranties."
