COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A 12-year-old boy on a bicycle was seriously injured Tuesday evening when he was hit by a pickup truck.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, 12-year-old Nelson Gutierrez-Montano of Naples was riding a bicycle and attempting to cross 50th Street SW near Golden Gate Parkway just after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Troopers say Gutierrez-Montano passed between two stopped vehicles in the northbound lanes and was hit by a southbound pickup truck driven by a 36-year-old Naples man.
Gutierrez-Montano was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
