SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. -- North Port Police are releasing new details on a deadly crash on U.S. 41 Thursday night.
It happened just before 6:30 p.m.
Police say Michelle Sedlak was trying to cross U.S. 41 on a bicycle at the corner of Pan-American Boulevard when an SUV hit her. Sedlak was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the driver of the SUV had the right of way and will not be facing any charges.
They say Sedlak's bicycle had no lights on it and it was dark at the time of the crash.
