COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 70-year-old Bonita Springs man is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike.
According to FHP, an SUV was northbound on CR-887 (Old US-41), north of Rail Head Blvd.
The man riding a bicycle was northbound on CR-887 to the far right of the roadway, directly in front of the SUV.
The passenger-side mirror of the SUV collided with the 70-year-old.
He came to final rest on the northbound lane of CR-887.
The SUV came to a controlled stop on the northbound grass shoulder of CR-887.
The driver was cited for violation of the three-foot bicycle law.
