Attorney enters not guilty plea for Desmaret

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The man accused of shooting and killing Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller, Wisner Desmaret's, entered a not guilty plea Monday morning.

At the courthouse, his attorney entered a not guilty plea and asked for a second scheduled arraignment not to happen.

His next court date is August 31st.

Friday, the state announced they will seek the death penalty against Desmaret.  He was indicted on several charges, including first-degree murder. 

Police say he shot the officer during an altercation on July 21st.  Jobbers-Miller passed away a week later.
