LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Lee County deputies have arrested three men involved in the shooting of 19-year-old Charles "CJ" Wallace during a drug transaction in Lehigh Ares on August 14, 2020.

Deputies responded to the 3100 block of 56th St. W, and found Wallace deceased, lying on the ground next to the driver’s side door of a vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned the victim was involved in a drug sale that quickly turned violent with sixteen-year-old Alize Fonseca.

Further investigation revealed the identities of two others involved, nineteen-year-old Christian Couto, and twenty-year-old Austin Moore. Detectives determined Fonseca planned to rob the victim while setting up the transaction prior to the shooting.

“Our Major Crimes Detectives finally brought closure to the victim’s family on this homicide case following a lengthy investigation in which they brought forth a solid case in conjunction with the State Attorney’s Office,” stated Sheriff Carmine Marceno.

Throughout this five month investigation, both Couto and Moore pled to second-degree murder, attempted robbery with a firearm, and conspiracy to commit robbery through the judicial system.

On the evening of Jan. 20, Fonseca was taken into custody. He is being held in the Lee County Jail and is charged with second degree murder, attempted robbery with a firearm, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
