Two suspects were arrested after allegedly stealing a car and crashing into multiple vehicles while trying to flee the scene.

The carjacking took place Wednesday evening near the Chili's Grill and Bar located east of the interstate on Alico Road, the Lee county Sheriff's Office said in a report.

Deputies say a black 2018 Dodge Charger was reported as stolen.

Thursday morning, Fort Myers Police located the stolen car and attempted a traffic stop in the area of Colonial Boulevard and South Tamiami Trail.

The driver of the Charger attempted to flee from FMPD and subsequently collided with multiple parked vehicles, LCSO said.

Immediately following the collision, 28-year-old Jerry Speed and a minor were apprehended by both the Fort Myers Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
