LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old girl has died in a crash in Lee County early this morning.
It happened at 12:15 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a vehicle was traveling on southbound I-75 on the inside lane. They say a boat had become dislodged from a trailer in a previous crash and was left on the inside lane of southbound I-75.
FHP says the vehicle hit the boat and rotated from the initial impact. The car then hit the front of a tow truck that was traveling in the center lane.
The vehicle came to a rest on the west shoulder of southbound I-75 with the tow truck partially on top of it. FHP says the crash is still under investigation.
