LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- We are learning a Cape Coral teen is now facing charges in connection to a serious crash on the Midpoint Bridge over the weekend.

Deputies say on Saturday, 18-year-old Austin Ross was drunk and speeding when he hit the back of a pick-up truck, which was sent dangling over the edge of the bridge.

That driver was sent to the hospital.

Deputies say Ross smelled like alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils. They also say he failed several field sobriety exercises.

Ross is now charged with DUI, DUI Property Damage, and DUI Causing Injury to Another Person.

He has since bonded out of jail.
