LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Cape Coral teenager has been arrested in the case of a brutal beating of another man outside a house party earlier this month.

18-year-old Kendrick Etienne was arrested Thursday and charged with Felony Battery.

Detectives with Cape Coral Police say that after extensive interviews, they determined that Etienne was involved in the beating of 19-year-old Tanner Mounce on July 16th in the 2500 block of NW 20th Terrace.

Mounce was reportedly mistaken for someone who punched another teen, and was confronted by a group of teens in an empty lot next to the house party.  Mounce was hospitalized after the beating with a broken jaw, which had to be wired shut.

There's no word yet on any other potential arrests.

Etienne is being held in the Lee County Jail on no bond.
