Ft Myers man charged with two separate shootings

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Police have charged 21-year-old Quan Terrell Wilsher with the shooting incident that occurred on October 13, 2015 in Downtown Fort Myers and the shooting incident that occurred in the parking lot of the City of Palms Park on November 10th, 2015.

Wilsher has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in regards to the shooting that occurred downtown on October 13th.  There were no injuries associated with this incident.

In regards to the shooting at the City of Palms Park on November 10th, Wilsher is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and aggravated battery with a firearm.  The investigation in this case discovered that while the victim was standing next to Officer Jeremy Hawkins, Wisher fired several rounds striking the victim and narrowly missing the officer.

Wilsher was arrested on November 12, 2015 by members of the joint FMPD/LCSO Task Force and patrol officers after a lengthy foot pursuit through downtown. He was in possession of a semi-automatic firearm and ammunition at the time of his arrest.

Wilsher was charged with two counts of possessing a firearm by a Florida delinquent, possession of a concealed firearm, altering the identification of a firearm and resisting an officer without violence.

“Thanks to the hard work, dedication and commitment from our investigators, uniformed officers, FMPD/LCSO Task Force members and our State Attorney’s office, Wilsher will now be held responsible for his violent actions that injured an innocent victim and nearly struck a police officer,” said Police Chief Dennis Eads.
