Sarasota County Emergency Services are conducting a high-angle rescue in the 600 block of Palm Avenue in Sarasota on Monday morning.

Sarasota Police are on scene directing traffic while crews work to free a worker stuck on a scaffolding dangling from the 10th-story of an 18-story condominium building that is currently under construction.

One motor for the scaffolding wouldn't shut off and continued to raise one side up on the side of the building, which is how the scaffolding became uneven.

Sarasota County Emergency Services says the person is uninjured and tied on to safety lines. They are working to bring him down safely.

Gulfstream Avenue is closed from the 700 block north to Main Street.

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
