Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to nine different reports of burglaries in the Cascades at River Hall gated community in Alva Thursday. The thefts are reported to have happened on Birch Tree Lane, Apple Blossom Lane and Ligustrum Lane, south of State Route 80.

All of the thefts were reported by the property manager for D.R. Horton Homes, a company that is building homes in Cascades. The method of entry was similar in each home - usually through an open or unlocked garage door. All nine reports say that the thieves took eight circuit breakers from the main electrical boxes, leaving nothing else out of place.

"The gate here has been open during the day," said River Hall resident Guy Gravino. "It's closed now, so obviously there's some concern from the management here."

Many residents told Fox 4 that they had seen Sheriff's Office patrol cars in the neighborhood, but were unaware of the burglaries.

"I'm still concerned because it could be my home, too," said River Hall resident Adell Charles. "It's important to know these things."
