Brush fire forces 600+ evacuations in Polk County

FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Polk County Fire Rescue and Florida Forest Service are currently battling a massive brush fire in Polk County.

The 100+ acres fire is burning in the Indian Lake Estates area along HWY 630 E. According to Florida Forest Services, all 600 plus homes in the Indian Lake Estates subdivision have been ordered to evacuate.

At least one home has already been damage and pets injured. HWY 630 e is currently closed in the area. Reverse 911 is being used to contact residents who live in the affected area.
