CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police have made an arrest after a disturbance that started with two men and a gun at a local convenience store, and ended with a swim in a canal.
21-year-old Wallie Julien is now charged with carrying a concealed gun and resisting arrest.
Police say that on Tuesday just after 5:30 p.m., they were responding to a chaotic situation at the Circle K on Skyline Boulevard south of Trafalgar. Julien and another man had reportedly drove off by the time police arrived.
When police caught up with their car along Southeast 15th Terrace, Julien reportedly fled with a handgun and jumped into a canal. He was arrested after a brief standoff.
The gun was located and collected as evidence.
