People from all across southwest Florida came together for the Edison Festival of Light Parade.
This is the 79th year the festival has taken place, honoring Thomas Edison for his accomplishments and contributions.
Several streets were blocked off and there was heavy patrolling in the area to ensure safety.
The festivities continues Sunday as and will wrap up will wrap up with crafts on the river market and a classic car show.
