Shoppers checking their lists up to the end

Stores around Southwest Florida were busy into the evening Thursday as shoppers tried to finish last minute Christmas shopping.

Among them were Bud and Barbara Miller, seasonal residents of Naples who just got back to town.

"Our computer died, we had to buy new vertical blinds, and we had medical appointments," said Barbara.

Full time nurse and mother of three Dawn Finucan also had a good reason to put off her shopping to the end.

"I work 7-3, but we have call, and I'm also going back to school for my degree."

She stocked her cart full of Star Wars swag for herself, and something from a different galaxy for her kids.

"They're into amebos, for the WI, they're almost sold out of those."

A few aisles over, Lisa Pearson and her daughters were also doing some last minute shopping at the Pine Ridge Road Target in Naples.

"Mostly stocking stuffers, but we're also baking some Christmas cookies tonight."

But Pearson and her family really put off Christmas until the very end, judging by what was in her cart.

"Sadly, the lights are for the tree."

Target will be closed Christmas Day.  Several gas stations, including 7-11 are open Friday.
