A Cape Coral subcontractor is out of thousands of dollars after partnering with Aranda Homes, a home building company that has disappeared leaving several projects unfinished.

Charlie Dellroso has been in the air conditioning business for 25 years. He owns Royal Air Systems, Inc, in Cape Coral. Dellroso was a contractor for Aranda Homes for air conditioning. After watching our report featuring a local man whose home was left unfinished, he reached out to Four In Your Corner to help him.

Dellroso says he was asked by Aranda to complete the air conditioning in that home several times but refused after prior bad payment history with them.

"Their payments were getting like six months behind and all of a sudden they just got so deep into debt they couldn't keep up with what they had," Dellroso said.

When he saw the Cape Coral man's pain, he wanted to help him by donating air conditioning equipment and all labors to complete that portion of his nightmare.

"It broke my heart," Dellroso said."I've been through it, losing money like that. It just gets to you to see that happen.I'll take my losses for whatever it is. My only action right now is I'd like to see the homeowner get help."

FOX 4 has tried reaching Aranda Homes but have not been able to contact them. We spoke with the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association to find out if there's anything that can be done.

"In the Department of Business Regulation there is a builders fund they can reach out to and they can try to reach out to get that resolved," Sinclair said.

Sinclair is also on the contractors liaison board for unlicensed contracting for the City of Cape Coral. He says Aranda homes is licensed but may have run into deep financial issues.

"I think they really tried to help everybody out and I think they really tried getting the houses completed."
