Hi there! Thanks for clicking on my page to learn a little more about me!
I’m a southwest Florida girl who was born right here in our viewing area! More specifically, in Port Charlotte, Florida. I’m honored to be reporting in my hometown, and proud to represent the people of southwest Florida. Plus, I have a big problem with cold weather – so never having to leave Florida is a big bonus!
I’m a people-person, and I love getting to know everyone I meet and hearing their stories. In fact, that’s one of the main reasons I love reporting: I get to meet you all and tell your stories. So if you ever have something you want me to look into, or something you want to share, please shoot me an email!
I’m a proud Florida Gator and graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in Gainesville. I love cheering for the Orange and Blue! During my time at UF, I first reported for Florida’s 89.1 WUFT-FM, the NPR affiliate at the University of Florida. I then traded my audio recorder for a camera, and started reporting and anchoring for WUFT-TV News. I covered everything from a shooting death in a local home, to the identification of the suspect in the case of missing Tiffany Sessions. I’m a big fan of investigative reporting. I also passionately followed the medical marijuana debate in Florida, reporting several stories on the issue. I did all of this without missing a single home football game! Then, I graduated from the University of Florida Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Telecommunication.
During my internship with FOX 13 in Tampa Bay, I shadowed reporters, producers, and anchors to learn about broadcast journalism in a real-life setting. That experience opened my eyes to how much our job can change the status quo and help people in need.
I’ve spent my entire life in Port Charlotte, with the exception of my four-year stint in Gainesville for college. I grew up watching Fox 4 News and I feel incredibly lucky to now be a member of their news team!
In my free time, you’ll find me spending time with my family and friends, soaking in the sunshine, cheering on my favorite teams (Go Gators! And Go Rays!), or playing with my two puppies. I’d love to get to know you, so if you see me around town, please say Hi!
