Many people remember the Ice Bucket Challenge that helped raise awareness for ALS, but there is a new bucket challenge that is getting attention on social media.

A fisherman in Louisiana posted about the challenge on Facebook and has dubbed it the five-gallon bucket trash challenge.

In the post, Leonard Bergeron said he understands people have their favorite fishing spots, but he wants them to stay clean as well.

Bergeron is encouraging everyone to grab a five-gallon bucket and fill it with trash while they’re out fishing.

He fears fishing spots will be fenced off if the public doesn’t do their part to keep them clean.

The post was created on Aug. 13 and has been shared over 1,000 times.

People across social media have also been taking pictures of their buckets filled with trash and sending them to Bergeron.

Viewers who decide to take on the bucket challenge are asked to share their pictures with Fox 4 on the station’s social media pages.
