(WTXL) — Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says that she filed Articles of Impeachment against President-Elect Joe Biden on Thursday afternoon.

Greene, who is newly elected, announced Thursday via a brief video posted to Twitter that she filed articles of impeachment against President-elect Joe Biden the day after he took power in the office.

"I just filed articles of impeachment on President Joe Biden," Greene said in the video. "We'll see how this goes."

In a statement released shortly after she claimed to have filed the articles of impeachment, Greene said she was seeking to impeach President Joe Biden for "his corrupt actions involving his quid pro quo in Ukraine and his abuse of power by allowing his son, Hunter Biden, to siphon off cash from America's greatest enemies Russia and China."

The articles of impeachment likely won't move forward in Congress since Democrats control both the House and Senate.

She first made the announcement about her intentions to impeach Biden on Jan. 13.

A vocal supporter of Trump, Greene's announcement came shortly after the U.S. House voted to impeach President Donald Trump on a single charge of inciting an insurrection. Greene voted against impeaching him.

Earlier this week, Twitter temporarily suspended Rep. Greene's account after alleging widespread voter fraud in Georgia, which included little evidence.

Trump is the first U.S. president in history to be impeached twice.

Though Trump will have left office by the time the impeachment trial begins, there may still be consequences if he is convicted. If convicted, the Senate could vote to bar him from holding public office ever again, which would prevent Trump from running for president in 2024.

Greene, who gained national attention for being QAnon follower, represents Georgia’s 14th District.
