Man wins top prize playing $5,000,000 gold rush doubler scratch-off game

The Florida Lottery announces that Waldo Banks, 80, of Leesburg, claimed a top prize in the $5,000,000 Gold Rush Doubler Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3,725,000.

Banks purchased his winning ticket from Publix, located at 10601 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg.

The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
