Dani grew up in Boise, Idaho, but is excited to trade the snow boots for sandals and skis for swimsuits in sunny Southwest Florida!
Dani studied Broadcast Journalism at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. As a member of the BYU Cheer Squad, Dani fell in love with being on the sidelines of football and basketball games, and originally focused on sports broadcasting as a sports reporter, anchor, and producer of the nationally recognized KBYU Eleven News Team. She decided to broaden her broadcasting horizons after spending the summer interning in New York City, working in the Lifestyle department at New York 1. Mainly assisting in the theater beat, she covered all things Broadway from the opening of new shows, to field producing NY1's nationally broadcasted Live from the Red Carpet to the TONY Awards Special.
After graduation Dani accepted her first weather position on the weekends in Eastern Idaho, where during the week, she also reported and spent some time on the anchor desk. Even with experiences from interviewing Mitt Romney, to being volunteered to join the local roller derby team, she found that weather is where she felt the most at home. She then took the morning weather position her hometown of Boise Idaho and decided to go back to school to get her meteorological certification through Mississippi State University, completing the program August of 2018.
As much as she enjoyed being back home forecasting weather in the city she grew up in, she's ready for her next adventure forecasting hurricanes instead of snow storms! She's most looking forward to being able to explore all Florida has to offer and spend her entire weekend laying on the beach.
