COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — A 36-year-old Port Charlotte man was killed Tuesday in a crash along Alligator Alley.
Troopers say a tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-75 near mile marker 92 when it turned into the paved median, entering the westbound lane, into the path of the man's pickup truck.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene; the truck driver suffered no injuries.
Traffic was congested in the crash area, with one lane of travel opened in each direction for several hours.
