Alexandra Rangel is a bilingual Emmy award-winning journalist from Calexico, California. She joined Fox 4 Now in May 2022 as a multimedia journalist.

Alexandra graduated from San Diego State University in 2015. At SDSU she covered stories for The Daily Aztec and hosted a radio show for KCR College Radio. She later joined San Diego City College where she anchored and reported stories for San Diego City College Newscene.

She landed her first reporting job in her hometown with KYMA News in Imperial County. There she covered immigration along the southern border. Alexandra’s most impactful story was a deadly car crash in Holtville, Ca that killed 13 undocumented immigrants. The fatal incident devastated the community that is so closely intertwined with the Mexico border.

After KYMA Alexandra returned to her college town in San Diego to freelance for KPBS News. There she continued her border coverage along the San Ysidro and Tijuana border. She also covered Latino and Hispanic communities in San Diego experiencing economic hardship.

When she isn’t reporting, Alexandra can be found exploring the beautiful beaches of Southwest Florida or visiting one of the many restaurants in town for happy hour.
