City of Fort Myers suspends three sandbag sites

FORT MYERS, Fla. — UPDATE AUGUST 31ST

The City of Fort Myers has suspended its three sandbag sites.

Residents and businesses owners in the City of Fort Myers have sandbags available to them beginning Tuesday afternoon.

A limit of 20 bags per vehicle will be in effect.

The city says free self-service sand bags available for City of Fort Myers residents and business owners. 

Sand will be available after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at two locations: 

  • 2300 Peck St.- In front of the former Atlantic Coast Line train station
  • 9700 Treeline Ave.- Fire Station No. 5

Residents will need to provide their own shovel to fill the bags.

UPDATE (2:15PM) -- Both above locations have run out of sandbags.  Residents than can supply their own bags can still fill them there.
