Fort Myers food bank collecting supplies for North Carolina hurricane victims

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Midwest Food Bank will be sending cleaning supplies and outdoor tools to Elizabethtown, NC for hurricane relief.

The food bank is asking for donations to be dropped off at 5601 Division Drive Ft. Myers, FL 33905 and will leave the facility on October 1st at 10am.

They are requesting:

  • Pine Sol
  • bleach
  • buckets
  • shovels
  • mops
  • dust masks
  • rakes
  • gloves
  • rags
  • anything else along those lines

The items can be dropped off through the rest of this week between 8am-4pm and on Saturday from 8am- 12pm.

Tropical Storm WARNING
An announcement that tropical storm conditions (sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph) are expected within the specified coastal area within 36 hours.

Hurricane WATCH
An announcement that hurricane conditions (sustained winds of 74 mph or higher) are possible somewhere within the specified coastal area. A hurricane watch is issued 48 hours in advance of the anticipated onset of tropical storm-force winds.

Hurricane WARNING
An announcement that hurricane conditions (sustained winds of 74 mph or higher) are expected somewhere within the specified coastal area. A hurricane warning is issued 36 hours in advance of the anticipated onset of tropical-storm-force winds
