The popular "Cone of Uncertainty" used in hurricane models has grown smaller.
This as storm forecasters have grown more certain over the years, about the potential path a storm will take. But widespread misunderstanding of the cone has prompted forecasters to try to improve the tool. Officials in the national hurricane center said that this year they will use a modified tool with a sleeker tracking cone.
