Viewer Chris Posada captured a helicopter hauling water to an 8 acre fire off Lake Trafford Road Wednesday afternoon in Immokalee.

By evening, most the flames were out,  around the same time crews were called to another brush fire across town in a field near a rodeo off State Road 29.

"We noticed there was a very large plume of smoke that developed at the center of the fire, and upon gaining access to it we realized it was a huge pile of tires," said Deputy Chief Michael Choate.

No one was hurt and no homes were destroyed in either fire, however firefighters stumbled upon a homeless camp at the scene of the tire fire.

"What we did discover is that there were some little encampments, gardens and little structures that folks had built and were living in," said Choate.

Choate says they may never know who dumped the tires in that vacant lot, the cause of both fires is still under investigation.
