Colombia officials recover black boxes after plane crash

Brand new this morning, Colombian aviation officials say the black boxes have been recovered from a chartered jetliner that crashed in the Andes.

The black boxes will hopefully shed more light on why the plane went down.

Officials are also lowering the death toll to 71, saying that four fewer people were aboard the aircraft than originally reported.

Six people survived.

Members of a Brazilian soccer team were aboard the plane. South America’s soccer federation has canceled all scheduled matches in a show of solidarity.
