LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- More money is on the table for information that helps investigators solve the murder of a Lehigh Acres man. The victim, Jontavious Thomas, was killed last month at his home on Adeline Avenue.

Detectives say that on January 30th, 29-year-old Thomas was about to head to work when he was gunned down outside his home.

Last week, an anonymous donor pledged $10,000 to the reward. And Monday, Thomas' former employer, Southern Gulf Equipment Rental, matched it.  Those rewards, including the customary $1,000 offered by Crime Stoppers, brings the total to $21,000.

“Jontavious was born and raised in Lee County, and leaves behind a wife and so many friends and family members who remain in shock that a young man with such a promising future could have his life taken so savagely,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.  “We hope that anyone with information on his murder would come forward because it’s the right thing to do, but the added reward money may be an incentive for some.  Anyone with information should remember that any tips provided through Crime Stoppers are completely anonymous – nobody will ever know you called.  And the details you may be able to provide could be key to providing closure for Jontavious’ family and justice for our entire community.”

Anyone with information on the murder of Jontavious Thomas is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $21,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips app.
