NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - At least three men are in custody after a what deputies called a 'violent manhunt' overnight.

Throughout the early morning hours on Thursday, deputies combed through neighborhoods near Orange Grove Boulevard and Hancock Bridge Parkway.

Deputies initially told our Breaking News Tracker on the scene around 1 a.m. they were looking for some 'people of interest.' They later said they were looking for armed men in a 'manhunt.'

The Cape Coral Police Department assisted in the search. At one point deputies called for K-9s and a helicopter to help in the search. They were later called off.

Our Breaking News Tracker says there is an abandoned car near Skyline Drive and Hancock Bridge Parkway that is part of the investigation.

Deputies cleared the scene shortly after 5 a.m. It is unknown why deputies were looking for the men in the first place.
