PHILADELPHIA, Pa - Only a 15th seed and given almost no chance of winning, the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles did the impossible upsetting the Georgetown Hoyas 78 to 68 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night.

The first half was filled with defense as both teams struggled to hit shots from the field.  FGCU held a slim 24 to 22 lead over the Hoyas.

Georgetown, a team ranked in the top 10 almost all year, was hit by a sudden flurry of 3 point shots and dunks which saw FGCU sprint to a 19 point lead in the 2nd half.

Brett Comer sparked FGCU's offense with great passing and 12 points while Sherwood Brown hit some big 3's and made several clutch free throws at the end to hold off a furious Georgetown comeback.  Brown finsihed with a team leading 24 points.

FGCU made the tournament in only its second year of eligibility

FGCU now stands at 25 and 10 and will face San Diego State game on Sunday.
