Former Lee Commissioner Bigelow fined for traffic stop
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Former Lee County Commissioner Brian Bigelow was fined $300 and ordered to pay court costs and the cost of prosecution in connection with a November 2012 traffic stop.
A Lee County deputy stopped the then County Commissioner Bigelow who was riding in a car with 18-year-old David Henley near Tice Street and Iona Avenue on November 7.
Henley was arrested for possession of cocaine, marijuana and for driving without a license.
This court case stemmed from Bigelow for allowing Henley to drive the car he had rented without a license.
Bigelow's legal troubles are far from over. He was arrested in January of this year for cocaine possession and then tested positive for the drug while out on bail.
