PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - An argument over buying synthetic marijuana led to sword play and landed a Port Charlotte man in jail on Sunday.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old William Russell Voswinkel Jr., for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon or swinging a sword and cutting his brother.

When deputies arrived at the Voswinkel home they found several people in and outside the home and no one wanted to cooperate.

Deputies said the two brothers got into a fight and Voswinkel went into a room that held various knives and sword.  Voswinkel picked up a sword and began swinging it in a circular motion.

As the sword was twirling in the circular motion the other brother put his hand out and grabbed the sword by the blade in defense of the blade striking him. The sword cut his right hand between the thumb and index finger.

Voswinkel, a convicted felon, remains in jail on no bond.
