Deputies target Lehigh Acres for DUI checkpoint
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A sobriety checkpoint targeted Lehigh Acres Friday night through early Saturday morning resulting in two DUI arrests.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office set up the checkpoint beginning at 10 p.m. at Sunshine and 11th Street Southwest. In all 504 vehicles traveling north and south on Sunshine Boulevard were checked.
Besides the two DUI arrests one driver was arrested for having a suspended license and two others for not having a valid drivers license. 19 other citations were issued.
