Woman who hit and killed a cyclist on Sanibel pleads guilty to pill fraud
FORT MYERS, Fla.- The woman accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist on the Sanibel Causeway is pleading guilty in a separate case.
48 year-old Theresa Shirley has plead guilty to multiple counts of prescription pill fraud in connection with a doctor shopping case she was charged for in December. Shirley has been sentenced to 180 days in prison.
She is the same woman who hit and killed cyclist Tracy Kleinpell back in May 2011. The State Attorney's Office says morphine and muscle relaxers were found in Shirley's system but not enough to be excessive.
