Lee County deputy involved in double fatal back on full duty

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed to FOX 4 News that a deputy involved in a double fatality crash 10 days ago is back on full duty.

Deputy Roberto Torres was running with emergency lights to a 911 call when his cruiser struck a vehicle carrying an elderly couple from Ohio at Palm Beach Boulevard and Mississippi.

John and Marilyn Steffen both died in the March 3rd crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
