Fox 4 anchor Patrick Nolan emcee's annual event
FORT MYERS, Fla. - They are some of the most dedicated and generous people in Southwest Florida - but you may not know about them. They're also very humble.
On Friday, many of Lee county's volunteers were honored in a very public way - at the annual Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) luncheon put on by Senior Friendship Centers of Lee County.
Fox 4 news anchor Patrick Nolan emcee'd the annual event which celebrates volunteers and their contributions to Southwest Florida.
According to R.S.V.P., the volunteers servied 132,260 hours at 23 locations in 2012.
The agency estimates volunteers provided the eqivalent of $2,881,945 worth of services to people in Lee county.
The Calendar Girls provided the entertainment at the event which was held at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater.
