Fort Myers woman to jail from stealing from her own bank

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A woman who stole more than $100,000 from a South Fort Myers bank will serve 90 days in the Lee County Jail.

29-year-old Sarah Stone worked as the head teller at the First Community Bank where she swindled $107,000 from the bank over an eight month period in 2011.

Besides the jail time Stone will spend two years in Community Control and then 13 months on probation.  She also most pay $106,000 in restitution.

Stone became the subject of an investigation when $2,000 was discovered missing from her teller drawer.  A more extensive audit uncovered the theft.
