Cape Coral selects new fire chief
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The city of Cape Coral announced Timothy Hayes will start as the new fire chief on April 8th.
Hayes is currently the deputy chief of operations for Gainesvilel Fire Rescue. He was selected from a group of five finalists.
"I am excited that Tim Hayes has agreed to join our organizational family," said City Manager John Szerlag. "I have all the confidence that he will perform in a high-quality, functional and professional fashion."
Hayes has worked for the city of Gainesville since June 1987. His salary will be $125,000.
