Florida gun rule change proposed
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Two Florida legislators have introduced a bill to require anyone who wants to buy a firearm has to go through a dealer.
If passed it would mean "you" wouldn't be able to sell a gun without a dealer's license.
Not at gun shows like at this one last month in Fort Myers, not online through craigslist and it would be against the law for Floridians to buy guns off the internet.
Literally hundreds of people go to gun shows. The question is would this new law would shut them down?
The lawmakers behind the bill say they're trying to avoid situations like what happened recently in Milwaukee where a man who had reportedly just failed a background check immediately got an assault rifle off the internet, went to his wife's work and murdered her and three others.
So, would the proposed law here prevent something like this from happening? Well no one would be able to buy off the internet and if you want to sell your gun you'd have to go through a dealer who would be willing to help.
