Toothless robber hits Fort Myers Publix
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are asking for the public's help in solving a robbery that involved a toothless bandit.
The hold up happened Wednesday morning at the Publix Supermarket located at 4600 Summerlin Road.
Police say a woman wearing a trenchcoat and oversized sunglasses approached the customer service desk to purchase a candy bar.
At that point she handed the clerk a note demanding money. The note implied she had a weapon.
She then put her hand over her mouth and told the clerk, "I forgot to put my teeth in today."
The suspect is described as a white, middle-aged, female and she apparently wears dentures.
The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a silver sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi.
Anyone with information can call FMPD at 321-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
