Girl age 11, arrested for North Fort Myers attempted arson
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County deputies arrested an 11-year-old North Fort Myers girl for an attempted arson at a duplex in the 2100 block of Eloise Circle on Saturday.
Investigators say a woman saw a pile of paper set on fire next to the front door of her next door neighbor. The witness also saw the suspect leaving the scene and a box of matches on the front stop.
The victim also saw the girl and put the fire out before it could spread.
A third witness also came forward and identified the 11-year-old as a suspect.
Detectives questioned the girl and placed her into custody. Due to the girl's age it is the policy of FOX 4 News not to name the suspect.
