PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A traffic stop by a Charlotte County deputy Friday afternoon led to an arrest and seizure of 1,004 grams of marijuana and $550 in cash.

Deputies arrested 24-year-old Vladimir Morrobel of Port Charlotte.

The deputy spotted Morrobel in his car slamming on his brakes on S.R. 776 near Toledo Blade Boulevard to avoid hitting another car in front of him.  Then he swerved into another lane nearly hitting the deputy's cruiser.

After noticing illegal tint on the back window of the car the deputy stopped Morrobel.  As she approached his vehicle she could smell marijuana.

Morrobel denied having any drugs or weapons but a search of his car proved otherwise and he was arrested for marijuana possession and possession with intent to distribute.

He is currently in the Charlotte County Jail being held on no bond due to prior convictions.
