Cape Coral police make arrest in home invasio robbery
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral detectives arrested a 16-year-old for a January 29th home invasion in the 4200 block of SW 3rd Avenue.
Detectives say the teenager, who was arrested Thursday night, confessed to the crime.
Police say a man was on his patio when two masked subjects stormed his house. They pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the man and demanded that he open his safe.
During the robbery, a struggle ensued and Northcutt was pistol whipped.
The suspects fled the scene with approximately $20,000 in cash including some rare silver coins.
A neighbor's surveillance video showed a dark colored Nissan Armada casing the area before the robbery which led investigators to the suspect.
The 16-year-old is charged with home invasion robbery and aggravated battery. Detectives are still searching for the second suspect.
