NAPLES, Fla. - FOX 4 is learning the owner of a bear that escaped in Collier County is now facing thousands of dollars in fines.
The FWC says they are seeking more than 5 thousand dollars in restitution from the owner of "boo-boo" the brown bear that escaped last month.
You may remember, the bear escaped from its cage at a home in Naples.
That prompted an all-out search by F-W-C for three days.
In a letter from FWC they say the bear's owner Dexter Osborn did not have a perimeter fence in place and that is how the bear escaped.
FWC is seeking more than 58-hundred dollars in expenses for the cost of searching for the bear.
