Marco Island considering new gun resolution
After several mass shootings including the one at Sandy Hook Elementary school, The federal government now wants to tighten gun regulations including banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Gun rights supports say that's unconstitutional.
One by one in their red white and blue people living on Marco Island stood up for a resolution that calls on elected leaders to publicly say they won't support any new federal gun laws if they infringe on their second amendment rights. One woman even sharing a story of survival.
Despite the hesitation The City Council approved the resolution supporting the right to bear arms. Activists and city leaders agree, it's the elected officials job help to protect the people.
